When I grow up...

I grew up in a home where music is really important. We would listen to and watch "Music and the Spoken Word" by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and sometimes, the Orchestra on Temple Square.
I cannot remember an exact day, but I can remember the feelings their music would give me; I would never want the songs to end. Sometimes they made me want to jump up and save the world with my own two hands!!
It was in these early years that I decided I want to give others that same feeling of invincibility. I started playing the violin young, but switched to playing the cello for our school orchestra due to the lack of cellists and surfeit of violinists. I have been playing ever since then. I want to play in college, so I am practicing hard for a scholarship. My goal is to play with the Orchestra on Temple Square.

  1. Great goal. I personally never felt that way, being invincible, so I hope that one day I may be lucky and hear you play someday. Isn't it cool how are past has a lot to do with who we are and what we want to be? The best of luck!

  2. Very well worded. I know the feeling and wish I could stretch my talents that far.
